Remove a profile from Accounts Center

In Instagram, open Profile > Menu > Accounts Center. In Facebook, Accounts Center is available from Settings.

Choose Accounts, select the Facebook or Instagram profile to disconnect, and tap Remove.

Review Meta's explanation and confirm. Removing a profile from Accounts Center does not delete its Facebook or Instagram account.

Stop cross-posting without fully unlinking

Open Accounts Center > Sharing across profiles.

Choose the source and destination profiles, then disable automatic sharing for posts, Stories, and Reels as needed.

Previously shared posts remain on the destination unless you delete them there separately.

Turn off synced profile information

Open the profile-syncing settings in Accounts Center and disable syncing for the selected profiles.

Future changes stop syncing, but an existing shared name, username, avatar, or profile photo may need to be edited manually.

Review each profile after the change so public information appears as intended.

Separate business tools and Page connections

If an Instagram professional account is connected to a Facebook Page, review the Page's linked-account and business settings.

Disconnecting can affect cross-posting, shared inboxes, ad workflows, and permissions. Record active campaigns and business access before changing the link.

Removing a Page connection is separate from deleting the Page or Instagram account.

Secure both accounts afterward

Confirm that each account has its own current email, phone number, and unique password.

Review active sessions and two-factor authentication in Accounts Center.

Remove saved login shortcuts from shared devices and verify that no unknown Page, business, or third-party app remains connected.
